During the month of February, Delaware's state museums are presenting 15 events in commemoration of Black History Month. To read the list, click here.

In photo, from left: Orlando Camp, author of The Milford Eleven, speaks to State Reps. Don Blakey and Harvey Kenton following a Black History Month event at the Public Archives Building (2/2). Mr. Camp was one of 11 10th grade students (The Milford Eleven) that were involved in an abortive attempt to desegregate Milford High School in 1954. Rep. Kenton, who was a 7th grade student in Milford at the time, was one of a handful of white students that did not take part in a boycott protesting the arrival of the African-American students. For more details, see the brief on our Facebook page (link on right).
